Back in late March,I was up at the Thruway/ Sporting Goods in Walden,NY on a Friday. Turns out there was a big Fishing Event and mega sale for the weekend. I saw $300 off on a Walther- PPK/380cal- the James Bond Handgun. For $600,I knew ,I had better jump on this before the Fishing Event. I only have 2 Handguns now and Full Carry in New York. Wanted something Small,I can carry. Took some shots last weekend.Love it. Pic of me below with my new Walther- PPK.

I did not look at the wind today before I left because I would be crabbing the back bay. When I got to the ramp I was unsure if I could even launch my 15' crab boat. The waves were crashing and the wind was howling. I said screw it I am already here, and I needed to get my 2024 crab fix started. It honestly was the worse conditions that I ever crabbed in my life. The relentless strong wind out of the North East was actually making 2+ foot waves. My 15' skiff was actually surfing when I had the wind at my stern. Pulling the traps was not easy with the wind against the tide, the lines looked like silly string. After 2 hours I had enough crabs for dinner and then some, plus I had enough of that frigging wind. Another wonderful season has arrived.

I know when I owned my bait and tackle shop, hooked fishing not on drugs was a one night a week thing. Same night every week for most of the summer. The guy running it would come in every week and me and my wife would donate minnows and shiners. He would have the parents and kids meet at different local lakes and ponds each week. Teach the kids how to fish and the different species of fish in each lake. Some of the parents would bring their kids in to get their own bait and fishing gear each week. Really was a great experience for the kids. Each week kids would come in and share pics and stories with me and wife. I think we enjoyed it as much as the kids.
