I don’t personally see them often in that area, because they are elusive and smart. However there are tons of bobcats around that area for sure. Every year I get I think the same hen on my property and she’s got 2-3 poults for a couple weeks and then she’s solo. I see hardly any turkeys driving around.

I have been hunting over 40 years and there has never been so many Predators out there. simple answer we need more guy's hunting them.

Good to hear from you and your ok 😊 physically wise! . Lack of birds can definitely disappointing for sure Mentally wise. I believe the bobcats are a factor!! They're prowness is remarkable. Grouse we're once abundant too Hunting myself for many years along the kittatiny ridges and valleys of hope and blairstown they were a rare sighting but that changed. Anyway I wish you luck Mike

Thanks for the interest and my physical health is just fine....my mental heath is in question.. The lack of birds is driving me crazy! I have hunted 4 days so far without even hearing a gobble ! When I do hear gobbles it's on the roost and then silence when they hit the ground. That's a sure sign of high pressure from predators, both 2 and 4 legged. So far I've only worked birds three times!!!!. Two toms came in that I couldn't get a shot at with the crossbow because of brush. Another time I gave a longbeard a feather trim with a broadhead at 17 paces as he strutted for decoys and the third was a group Jake's that I passed up. This is the first year I haven't killed atleast one bird during the first week since 1984 and it's not looking good for B week I continue to see a decrease in turkeys as the number of bobcats increases. Hmmm I wonder ...

I can teach you to throw the net in five minutes . i would also recommend until you get good with the net to save your Percy . buy a Betts 10-18 mullet net , and change the handline to about 45’ percy makes a great net, but it’s very fine mono and is very easy to destroy to figure out what is wrong with your net throw break the circle into quarters . front 2 quarters away from you should always open if enough throw is started if side you had on your shoulder doesn’t open put it over your shoulder further to create drag . throwing in a slicker is tougher than a sweatshirt due to less drag . if side collapsing is side you held in your hand pinch the net tighter . dont try and overpower the net throwing for distance until its always opening . after net hits the water it’s very important there is no drag on the handline or the net will start to close too soon if possible try and net bait showing in top ten foot of the water column

I'm not even hunting. Very few birds, I wouldn't feel good shooting the one bird I see occasionally.
