  2. Congratulations nice fish
  3. Sounds awesome. I’ll see if I can get my kiddo into it and let you know. The Sunday sprint is already at 97% capacity. We should get @not on the rug to do a Tough Mudder, I’m considering the Philly event to be my training wheels. It’ll be a good barometer for me and help guide my training until July. Killing my runs, so not worried about endurance. Right now I have been doing a lot of grip strength work, dead hangs, pull-ups and chin-ups.
  4. Another Monday and another great turkey hunt. I got in early and at 5:35 I heard the first gobble. It was pretty far off. I waited and let out a couple tree yelps and the response was a delightful one. A gobbler within 150 yards. I did a couple more yelps from my glass pot call and after he gobbled, I just went silent. So did he and a short waiting game began. About 10 mins later a hen comes in from my right. Then another but this young lady had a bright red headed boyfriend with her. Longbeard goes straight for my bedded hen and begins trying to breed her! It took about 15 mins for me to get a shot on this horny gobbler since I made the mistake of placing my jake decoys directly behind my bedded hen. I did not want to shoot longbeard at the same time blow up my jake decoy. Finally, the bird turns offering me a clear shot, I shoot BOOM! I shoot slightly low and birds turns to run. But I placed a direct shot this time to the back of his head and it was over. Just an awesome hunt and season so far this year. I wish all of you still chasing the thunder chickens the very best luck! SS! 20240429_095817.mp4
  5. Nice fish and great job on the release. Way to go.
  6. Love catching blues, yea they’re rough on tackle but the fight is worth it
  7. Looks delicious. How did that last so long in the freezer?
  8. Holy crap dude! That's a hell of a tog! Absolute monster! Huge congrats!
  9. I don't hate them, very strong willed fish but after 4 or 5 they become a pain in the ass. They do help the chunk bite when they are in heavy chopping up the bunker
  10. I am trying to eat up last years saltwater harvest because another season of filling the freezer is upon us. Last nights dinner was Baked Sea Bass Topped with a Crab Claw Stuffing.
  11. Boat US, its great peace of mind especially at night when it can get pretty lonely out there. Location wise they are both out of Highlands so the waiting time will be same if you fish the Raritan Bay area
  12. Yesterday
  13. One of the best pound for pound fighting fish out there.
  14. Its only a 5k lol and ita straight up a mountain so you won't be really running anyway 🤣 and if we do this I'll be exhausted from the day before. It's at blue mtn July 14th I'll be there for sure on the 13th doing the 10k but I haven't registered the kids for their race yet as I've been toying with this possibility.
  15. A lot of your rifle or slug gun being off a little can be several things...weather conditions or more often than not it's head placement on the stock. Doesn't take much to be off 1 or 2 inches
  16. My turkey gun is my old goose/duck gun. Rem 870 3" with 30" full choke. Does the trick all the time every time. I don't pattern the gun as I use one of two loads all the time.
  17. Anna thanx again for the generous offer, I'll put it to good use.
