  7. Heard "a" gobble at a new WMA spot ("new" to me). It was so close, I'm sure it must have seen me, even though I couldn't tell from where it came from... I was stuck on a path in the middle of thick woods on both sides. You should have seen me trying to frantically find a spot to sit -- "I can't just sit down right here in the middle of the path!" LOL I might go back there later this week. It was the only thing I heard all morning... a single gobble.

  18. Great Bird 👍! You have a nice spot there. Down in the pines we have limited visibility.
  19. Was a very interesting morning. I set up in one of my regular spots close to the property line, put out decoys and sat down to say some prayers, and thank God for another days in the woods and asked to let me come home safely this week. Just before 6AM I heard yelps to my left that sounded like a hen with COVID, Obviously another hunter, a few minutes later further to my left the gobbles started. I did not do much beside some very low yelps then kept quiet knowing the person to my left did not have a clue and just kept calling. I new if the birds moved my was instead of going further left I could bring the tom in. About 15 minutes of the other guys calling I got a glimpse of the birds and just started purring, they were on their way, all of a sudden a little further down there was someone else calling and the Tom was having non of it, since I had the two hen decoys out and a full Tom I knew if he spotted them he would come in to the purring and sure enough he screamed at the decoys and cam running in. He was about to face off with my decoy at about 30 yards and that's the last sound he made. I actually got this one home without cutting any fingers this week. Granddaughter was over so I took pictures with my Favorite Girl, hopefully I am around to take her out was the time is right.
