  2. I agree its and exorbitant amount of money however I'd rather see it spent on something like this where there is maybe some educational benefit, a permanent structure that will be around a while rather than on some of the pet pork projects our tax dollars are spent on that have no tangible results but many pockets get lined.
  3. Cool! Sounds like fun!! And I’m sure the Forestry Center does a great job with the kids!! But $2.6 million bucks is a lot of tax dollars for hay rides n tractors!
  4. Well,I had quite the Morning. Cynthia was set up in a Gully over a 1/4 mile away. She had around 6 Deer with knobs on their heads around her. A Doe came in close- too close - then a Hidden Fawn close to Cynthia pooped on out and went to the Doe. She never heard 1 Gobble. Meanwhile,I was way up high and heard 6. -- 3were close at around 80 yards each. 11 oclock, 3 oclock and directly behind me. And never saw a face. Later,I had a 1 hour duel with a Gobbler. Gave him everything you can think of. Cutting on a Wingbone almost worked. On the way out we saw a Woman walking a beautiful Black German Sheppard. We will do a Double Team tomorrow. I will drop back 60 yards behind Cynthia and do the Calling up where,I was this Morning. Maybe ,I can get one as well later on. Anyway- 0 for 12 Mornings and having a blast.

  7. That me trying to get out the door at 330am and wife give me hell for waking her up
  8. Sometimes those school busses come in over the bridge and when they have events there and hay rides they have tractors towing trailers loaded with adults and children back and forth to events soon both sides of the bridge. Check t out: https://www.nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/forest/education/frec.html
  9. Nice bird ! Great job
  10. Exactly, front stretch seats are decent, but you don't have the high angle like in turn 1. Not a lot of banking on the track. So, the higher the better. Also a lot of action in the turns.
  11. I live with a flock of turkeys. From a dozen hens I am lucky to see the poults and when I do it’s two at most.
  12. Water temp hit 71 degrees in the bay on thursday. Crabs are coming out for sure.
  13. Wow! Congrats, Jake! (Love the Grandkid, Grandpa, & buck photo)
  14. Its's not a total bridge replacement, but a significant rehabilitation to keep it sound. Midlantic was the low bidder at $2.6 Million. All the steel and concrete ... resurfacing, galvanizing, treating, etc. Replacement of timber bridge supports with steel pipe pile.
  15. Gotchya! Good point! I saw some school buses w kids getting dropped off at education center. But I still think the old bridge was operational as it was. School buses use the Bowman Rd entrance for the education center.
  16. Just went out Bowfishing for them last week. Had a blast. https://talechaserfishing.com/bowfishing
  17. Trout unlimited used to float stock too Caught many there yellow rooster tail

  19. Is that dueling banjos playing in the background ???
  20. I used to do volunteer work at the NJ Forest Resource Education Center many years ago. The bridge is a vital part of the center as it connects the main building and offices with the sawmill and fields and pond where other things are going on. Many schools bring children there on day trips as they have very good programs on forestry and streams and how they interact with animal life . The stream at that point is near the start of the headwaters of the Toms River . If you have young children and are looking for a day out you can just pop in and visit the main building which has lots of exhibits, and outdoor interactive kiosk that my former Trout Unlimited Chapter donated and walk the many trails and stream paths. NJ used to stock the Toms River with trout off that bridge for all the years I can remember.
  21. Years. not zones I have a lot of jakes around. Very few hens. Same issue last year. Think more hens last year. i have only seen 3 hens driving around none hunting. Maybe the survival rate of male checks is better than females. Maybe they are a bit stronger or a bit faster or may be a little more hearty also I have few 2 year old birds. Where happened to rh
  22. Or a big payoff to whichever company got the bid. Drove by yesterday and saw some workers sitting in their trucks on their phones at 10 AM….maybe their coffee break. Lol
