Would be the number of shad my buddy and I landed from 6:40 am to 7Pm today from my boat.. Best start ever for the bi-state tournament. 25K on the line ! The leader is at 5.185 we let a 4.6 and 4.7 lb shad go. Maybe could have placed but it’s a gamble. For me to run way south to the scale means 3 hours of lost fishing time - so I need something bigger. Vastly more roe than buck - maybe 15-20 were bucks. All on darts.

I got out this morning in zone 9, I heard some gobbles while they were still on the roost. After they flew down I was calling and getting some response and I could tell he was getting closer. I had a coyote come in at 15 yards ( I couldn't get a shot off) it ran off in the direction of the gobbles and then they went silent. I called it quits at 9:00.

If I had gotten shot I would have been in jail if I survived.

My pup KC ( a Australian cattle dog) disappointed me this morning. He is such a good dog, but he wasn't so good last night. He has a room that he sleeps in, which is also my fishing, hunting, and taxidermy room. He is in reach of his dog bones, and treats and never touches them. I have a pile of deer antlers on the floor and he wont touch them. I have not put my fishing stuff away since I got back from Florida and I had a lid off of a tub for a few days and he finally went to the dark side. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

I am the Monmouth County rep and would be happy to answer any questions. I am also the coach of our S3DA kids team. www.S3DA.org. We have kids ranging from brand new shooting a bow starting off with trying a genesis bow at our practice to two 14 yr olds that have both won their age group in Barebow at the Lancaster Classic. We sponsor youth hunts, Womens hunts, adult onset hunts and hunts for the military and handicapped. As far as crossbows our stance is such that you can even use them at any of the UBNJ 3D shoots which most clubs in this state do not allow. We support all legal means to hunt and want to pass that on to the future generations so that what we here all love can see our kids and grand kids still be able to do it for generations to come.
