  2. Don't confuse the old and new "regulation sets" with the zones. The zone boundaries are remaining the same. The zones are simply being re-organized into 3 regulations sets (as opposed to the 8 we have now). But that doesn't mean the zones (or individual zone permits) are going away. The Multi-Zone Permits are not new either - they started selling them a couple years ago, but that was only for those hunting zones in reg sets 7 and 8. So if you hunted 3 or more zones in regulation set 7, you could have bought 1 Multi-Zone permit and been able to hunt any zone in that reg set (the 3 you hunt or any other one) for $56 (as opposed to $84 or more). But if you only hunted one zone in regulation set 7, you could have just paid $28 and get that zone only. This started, I think, in 2021, or somewhere around there. It will be the same for these new rules, only multi-zone permits are now going to be available for all the new reg sets (not just for some of them). So, e.g., if you plan on hunting three or more zones in the new "medium" regulation set, you can pay $56 and hunt any zone you want in that new "medium" reg set. But if you only plan on hunting one zone on that reg set, you can still pay $28 and hunt that zone only. They discussed all this in the public meetings they had last year. Here's what the new regulation sets will look like - there will only be 3 now, not 8 (but notice all the individual zones remain the same): Here's what the 8 look like now, and how they will be re-organized into only 3:
  3. I’m going to try and get out this year for the NJ bear hunt. Never did it here on PA. But I love bear meat and enjoy hunting them as well. Seems there is quite a few of em as well. Feel I need to do my part! Lol
  4. They are Jake’s Fred . GG is not shooting a Jake .
  5. He had them in range. He passed them
  6. From what I read they are doing away with the old sets and created the new multi sets . Could be I missed something. Hope you're right.
  7. Get the knight + Hale " Fighting Purrs" out and call them in.
  8. They've been slashing the fall bow season to sell more permit season tags ever since they started the permit season.
  9. ?? You don't HAVE to pay for the multi-zone permits. The same per-zone permit system is going to be in place. Just pay the $26 for the zones you want to hunt. BTW: I'm in the same situation. Multi-zone permits are likely not going to help me. I don't hunt 3 zones that will be in the same reg set.
  10. That is ALOT of Fall Permits for 1 Man. I wrote yesterday about The Fall season being slashed.
  11. Now I'll have to pay $112 to hunt my 2 zones, per season (plus buck stubs for each season) because they aren't in the same grouping
  12. They are actually going to be losing money with these new regs. * Multi-zone permits are going to be across the three reg sets now. Guys that hunt 3 or more zones in the same reg set will be paying less. * They are getting rid of fall turkey season - they are losing all that revenue (over $40k last year). * They are getting rid of the special predator season permit - it was only $2, but still - that's going away.
  13. Oh no, you mean I have to cross the Musky during the sulphur hatch to grab a barrel from you? Well, maybe I can slide a 4 weight into the truck “just in case”. Thanks for the offer and I’ll take you up on it via PM.
  14. I have to ask this - WHY?? One hunter bought **22** fall turkey permits last year!! 22! There's only 7 days in a season, and you can only shoot one a day! How many zones is this person hunting per day. At $21 a permit, that guy paid New Jersey $462 for one week of turkey hunting. One person bought 18 ($378), another 15 ($315), and another 12 ($252)!! That's crazy. Some people must REALLY love turkey hunting.
  15. Figured they would double the cost of all permits again when they first started messing with multi zones. Anything to make more money including from those that only hunt 1 zone. Sell us another buck stub, too, when most only use 1 0r 2.
  16. I’m not retired but have a young family at home now so the days on the road are behind me. We had a ton of fun from 2014-2019. Used to take 5-6 days go from Boston down to Virginia. It was a blast. I remember back to furthur days and it was great! My buddy is married but no kids so him and his wife made this their vacation. I’ll be on couch tour lol.
  17. Wow, there are a lot more changes than what they talked about in those meetings last year. For example, predator season - no longer allowed to hunt coyotes with a centerfire rifle on WMA lands until Jan 1. And they got rid of the special season permit. The predator regs were some of the most confusing out of all the regs they had. APR regs look like they stay in place as-is except for central deer zones where APR is removed. I can't tell exactly, they don't make it clear in the slides. But I think that's what it is. Oh, and Fall Turkey season is eliminated. And use of .410 / 28ga shotguns will be allowed, as well as ammo like TSS will be allowed, for turkey season. Pheasant opening day starts at sun-up (no longer 8am on opening day). Eliminate the Special Squirrel Muzzleloader Rifle Season and associated zones - muzzies no larger than .36 can be used during regular season. Lots more in here. Lots of changes. These are all proposed for 2025 (next year).
  18. Just like teenagers fighting over a girl... 63203.mp4 63222.mp4 See ya next year.
  19. Today
  20. I walked past them in BJs who had them for sale. Didn't pay attention to the price.
  21. Shoot me a pm, I have one you can have. I am a couple miles from point mountain. It is a 30 gallon blue drum.
