Weatherman is usually way off even in a daily basis . This spring they have been right on with the rain forecasts . finally may actually see a few day break next week . These are horrible nesting conditions , hope the hens soon get a break
  3. We have been catching on both bunker and NLBN larger shads
  4. Fake news, a dolphin of the woods would never do that.

  6. It’s no one’s fault but the problem is there are just to many bears up here.
  7. Yesterday
  8. I'm also experiencing relatively little bait and very few stripers small enough to keep. The size issue seems to reflect the series of poor spawning years over the last decade Congrats on a good day
  9. Yup. That is a summary of the actual law which is NJ Statute Title 23, Section 7-1 in case people want to read the law's text. Few people understand what the trespass law actually is in NJ (e.g. in general, you can legally hunt property that isn't posted unless explicitly told by the owner otherwise). But NJ's law is actually a "good thing" for hunters, anglers, and trappers, though not a "good thing" for landowners; but that was the point. Historically, the reason for our law was to allow "commoners" access to hunting areas and game, as opposed to only the very rich landowners. Here's a good paper written on the topic: "HUNTING AND POSTING ON PRIVATE LAND IN AMERICA" https://scholarship.law.duke.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1238&context=dlj If you read this article, you will see the push to revoke trespassing laws like we have here in NJ are spearheaded by the rich and by animal-rights organizations like PETA. In the words of the author of the paper, "as a result of social changes [driven in part by organizations like PETA and other animal-rights, anti-hunter extremists] they [these trespassing laws] now unfairly privilege hunters over landowners. Because judicial remedy of this problem seems unlikely, state legislatures should alter their statutes to require landowner permission to hunt on private land. ... It is time for states and cities to recognize that American society has changed." Here's some quotes from that paper: They conclude:
  10. Absolutely...took over 15 throws to get bait. Most throws were 5 or 6 bunker. I tried a spoon, a doc, & shad. All they wanted was bunker. Going again next week, hopefully it is easier getting bait.

    Rain

Weatherman said we had 11 weekends in a row of rain and number 12 is on its way. WTF
  12. Today, Governor Jeff Landry signed Senate Bill 194 into law which enhances and strengthens Louisiana's existing firearm preemption laws.View the full article
  13. That motion is just what finished putting you out of alignment . ‘best thing you can do is stretch your hamstrings a few times through the day . you will find keeping them loose will allow your back to get back into place . one legs will def be tighter than the other , and that muscle pulling on your back all day makes it hurt more .
  14. I just read Bear kills one Dog injured a second in Sparta NJ ,By the high school .
  15. While working an unresponsive Gobbler this morning who had a couple of ladies with him, I caught movement to my left. It appears as though I caught 20240515_135742.mp4 someone else's attention.
  16. Takes the air out of you . feels like 240 volt shock in the back. Welcome to my world. Everyday it is something new. Arthritis on top of it. 50 years of hard labor takes a toll on the body. Like mentioned getting old sucks. S advil helps. Try laying on hard surface for a night or two. Feel better.
  17. Yes, dog owners should train their dogs to jingle their keys to scare the bears away.
  18. I would kit blame anyone. Shit happens.
