Strictly Archery is where I go. They can be opinionated but they do know their stuff. I recommend calling ahead and confirming a time to come in. They have always been kind to my son, even when he almost shot out their window. If they shut down tomorrow my next choice would be Simon Peter.

Race weekend, Philly Tough Mudder this Sunday. Rented an Air B&B for the weekend so we’ll head out when my little girl gets home from school later this afternoon . Didn’t change much this week to prepare for Sunday, it’s a short course so I really didn’t see a need to “taper” any of my training. Added in 2 early morning sessions of hot yoga though. Slowed down the running this week as planned and focused more on interval training than straight endurance runs and my lumbar feels loose. Feeing good, weather looks good for Sunday too. That’s about all I have, I’ll try to get some pics on race day and post them. Have a good weekend all!

I took my bow to Strickly Archery in Washington last year for the first time. Top Notch service and my bow has never shot better. I wont go anywhere else anymore. Its about an hour drive from me and well worth the trip.

My bear will be a 1/2 mount, I believe sometime in 2025 it will done....no big deal for me

I tried last year with zero success. In the end, that bear is going to be a shoulder mount and should be done fairly soon I'd guess.

I’m sure you could offer the hide away. I have multiple non hunters ask for the hide if I’m gunna dispose of it. Even after telling them the price to have it rugged.

Check Facebook there is a guy in rockaway that post sometime. I am with you I treat like deer as well need to just keep shooting them.

For bear bait stations for the hopefully upcoming October archery season. I have had one in the woods maybe for 15 years, but now am looking for a second (or third) bait station to get more hunters out to shoot more bears. Nobody is going to magically make my bears disappear, so I have decided to treat them like deer from now on. No more taxidermy, just shoot 'em, eat 'em, and toss the hide out. @Rusty and I have also invited down some from the NYWW site to help further. Most NJ hunters have no interest or are in the "one and done" category. I was in both of those categories myself over the years, just to be honest. For those that think bear doesn't taste good, my annual trout crew on the Upper D just raved about my bear Bolognese in camp last week. And they loved the snack stix and cheddar garlic Brats as well. I'm in Taylorhamville, but travel to central from time to time. Thanks to anyone that has one or two they don't need.
