  2. So here it goes for my excuse. I usually fish the same 1.5 mile section and always did very well. I’ve gone out 3 times maybe about 8 hours total and have only caught 6 this year. I usually hit it within 2 days of stocking. But this year has been different. In my limited experience the water levels have been great I just feel the water flows way faster since the dam removal. So that’s my excuse, the dam removal is now offering better flows and fish have more area now that is suitable for them vs the typical holes or stretch’s that did have good flows. The area I always did my best I haven’t even got a nibble on. However my one spot now that is more scenic has been the best producer so that’s a plus. I talked to a few guys fishing it and They said the same. Anyone else notice this?
  3. Well,I made it out for 6 Straight Mornings so far. Having a grand ol time out there without killing anything yet. And Try again tomorrow for the start of B Week. Wednesday/May 1st-- New York opens. Out today with Cynthia at @#! and heard a bunch of Gobblers. Looks like,I will soon be trying out that Thermacell with the upcoming major warmup. Another great event and so many amazing kids involved with this. We spent the day in Morristown yesterday very long day kids physically beat parents mentality lol. Bugs went home with gold in both her events taking the belt for no ghee and gold metal for ghee. The heart these kids have is outstanding, shaking hands before each fight and hugging and congratulating each other after. Hopefully this is hope that we have a future.
  6. Not sure if they were shooting turkeys….& not sure if rifles are legal for spring season….but it sounded near our property n cud have been poachers.
  7. Population in those areas are a small fraction of what was once their add in the human and environmental pressures to the low numbers and the hunt becomes very challenging but not Impossible. Stay at it. A north jersey public land bird is a well earned prize
  8. I usually brown it first. I'll make different varieties at times... Chili seasoning Taco seasoning Peppers &onions I'll top with a slice of beefsteak tomato and then some slices of provolone
  9. I have hunted Berkshire valley and split rock . I agree with Bob everything well educated. Been heavily hunted for ever.
  10. With eliminating sugar and most carbs from your diet get ready to lose some weight, and quickly. Good luck
  11. All my venison is 100%. The only thing I have not mastered with venison is burgers. I don't make them for that reason. I have a half dozen recipes I've been saving. I'll ad yours to the list.
  12. I went out yesterday afternoon hoping the wind would let up but of course it didnt at least where the fish were it didnt. Boated 15 fish in three hours and thats all the waves I could take, if it were nice out we would of crushed them. Like others have said its been hit of miss
  13. Everything gets hidden in the transom cover. Now she's in for a good scrubbing and a shake down run
  14. Nice! Those are some good birds right there - big paintbrushes!
  15. Venison Burgers 1 lbs ground venison (I used straight 100% venison for the full pound, but I guess you could have a mix with beef or pork) 2 Tbsp McCormick Grill-Mates Hamburger Seasoning or Weber Gourmet Burger Seasoning (or come up with your own herb-spice mix, but I used the Webers) 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 Tbsp A-1 steak sauce 1 egg 1/2 onion or 1 full shallot, diced (or 1 Tbsp dried onion as a substitute) 2 Tbsp bread crumbs Combine all ingredients really well, and use a burger press or hands to form patties. Makes 4 quarter-pound patties. Let patties rest until about room temperature and then cook using desired method (grill, cast iron skillet, George Foreman grill, etc.).
  16. Just found this for sale for your boat. Looks like a good deal.
  17. Looks great! Type 1 or Type 2? I’ve had Type 1 for 24 years now. One thing to watch out for (which nobody told me about early on) is something called gluconeogenesis. Basically if you eat too much protein in one sitting, over the next few hours your blood sugar just keeps going up and up as the protein slowly converts into sugar…as if diabetics don’t already have to restrict themselves as it is! Feel free to reach out to me if you ever have any diabetes questions or need some tips… I’ve experienced it all pretty much!
  18. Where did all the wiring and battery box go? Nice work! Good luck and enjoy
