  5. Hens! I have seen a lot of hens this season and very comfortable. Hopefully it means an uptick in the overall population.
  6. Hunted a buddy's property this morning. I got there early and didn't hear anything for over an hour. I got impatient and moved to the back of the property to see if anything was there. Nothing. I get a text from my buddy who is out by a building by the front of the property where I was earlier... "There's three hens up here." Of course there are. I quickly make my way back up front and I can hear them but they are doing their thing and won't come close. I never caught sight of the hens and I don't think there was a Tom. By this time I have to go to work so I start walking out. I get to within 100 yards of my truck and I look to my right, what do I see? A hen a mere 30 feet away just casually walking by, going the other direction. Like she's going to the coffee shop or something, not a care in the world. It felt like I was passing some stranger on the street.. "Hey, how ya doing. Nice weather we're having." She goes her way, I go mine. She never spooked, startled, putt-putted... she just casually did her thing, and I did mine. I got in the truck and went home thinking, "Now, if I was sitting next to a tree with the gun shouldered, she would have freaked out and alarmed every bird in the area with putt-putts. But yet, walking out having to leave for work? She's all like, "Whatever dude, I need my early morning frothed latte cappuccino fix. See you tomorrow."
