State park harassment

Recommended Posts

The way I look at these situations, you get to yell at me, or give me a ticket, not both!
So you didn’t get the ticket, would you have rather gotten the ticket, but the PO was nicer?

I take the abuse (within reason) rather then the ticket (if you’re obviously guilty of course) that’s just me.

As a person who never curses or raises his voice to get a point across I would have been highly offended.....whether I was breaking the law or not......no reason for a PO to treat a citizen like that......Is he not innocent until proven guilty ?........Ive told people on more than one occasion " I do not tolerate that kind of language " usually they are taken aback and apologize...........

Your right, but had he stood his ground and said his peace about the profanity he might  have walked away a winner maybe with a ticket and maybe not, but he did not.

while i support law enforcement with a few friends who are. i dont think its acceptable for a police offer to be having a bad day and take it out on people. the cursing at you is 100% un called for and i would report that. will anything become of it? no. so your wasting your time. be glad he didnt ticket you. and next time go when the park opens. dont worry about who else is out there. worry about your own actions.

No excuse for the cursing. Politely introduce yourself, advise of the violation and either write a ticket or give a warning.

:agree:

Absolutely zero reason to use profanity with a citizen.

De-escalation training would be beneficial for an officer who acts like this for no reason...PM sent...

The problem I have found with most state parks is after researching the rules and times the local staff like to make there own.  They also change them throughout the year to keep you guessing.

I spent most of my money on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.
