Not good news

I’ve been battling a bad knee for awhile and I finally got it checked out. Both knees are bad but my left knee has been swelling up lately. I got gel injections but they only helped my right knee so an MRI was scheduled and I got the results today. Severe arthritis and a torn meniscus. My options are shots ( which haven’t worked so far) and a knee replacement.  Which means at least 6 weeks out of work. I may have to dip into my 401k for this one which sucks. I’m fighting the fact that I have to get this done. Getting old sucks!!! As far as this is hunting related it means I’ll probably miss out on winter bow or Turkey season depending on when I get it done.

That suck bit if planed right lot of fishing in summer and back out in the falk for deer . From what I heard they like you up and moving as fast as possible.  Goid kuck

Do them both at the same time. I did and it was the best thing I ever did.

A knee replacement for a meniscus tear sounds extreme. Usually a little scope job and your good in a couple of weeks

A meniscus that is a problem isn’t something that goes away. Unless of course you have a desk job or work from home and can baby it for the next year. If you’ve already had the shots, it’s too late for that. It’s not a pleasant process, but neither is the pain that comes from letting it get worse.

It’s just not the meniscus I’m bone on bone with arthritis. I’m gonna talk to the doc on the 29th

We have a gym member that just had a knee replacement. She’s pushing 70 and she up and on the bike. She has a slight limp. She is post surgery a few weeks. Amazing! Good luck with everything.

I know a bunch of people that have had their knees replaced and without exception they all say that they wish they had done it sooner!  It's a new lease on life.  Get it done ASAP!

The most important thing is your health.  I have friends who had there knee's done and said to me they are sorry they waited so long to get them done. now they are pain free .
