NOT happy about gas prices

Truck was on empty and complaining to me, so I filled up the tank today.  I rarely drive anywhere with this whole COVID/work-from-home thing going on, but I just got some sticker shock after filling up the tank.

Thanks Joe Biden!

I spent over $600.00 worth of fuel just last month.

When I was committing to McLean, VA every week I would spend about $150/week on gas.  But that was $70/tank and I was driving 250 miles each way.  If I were doing the same commute, it would be at least $800/month.  This is insane.

You want to feel some Butt Hurt. I was driving through Newfoundland, Canada in 2008 when the crap hit the fan with oil prices. Don't remember why but the price of gas was $6.00 per gallon (about $1.50 a liter in their units of measurement). When I put about 25 gallons in my Suburban, I almost crapped.

It hit around $4.00 per gallon the the U.S. at that time.

When I started driving gas was $.23 per gallon.  You'd pull up to the pump and ask of $1 or $2 worth of gas and you were good to go.

And, a gallon of gas and a pack of cigarettes differed by only a few cents !

Back then (I won't say when) I worked at Sinclair and Esso gas stations ! :happywave:

I thought, growing old would take longer !

I spent most of my money on shotguns and fly rods.  The rest I just wasted.

Absolutely, 1st time since oBAMa was president that I'm putting in more than$50 for a 21 gallon tank.

It's what they voted for unfortunately

Not a complete a$$ hole just one of the dingle berries that hang off it.

when the ash trees fall down and you have no power then what take a long time to charge with a generator

I have a 14kw whole-house generator.  I could charge the Tesla.  But I'd still have the truck, and I'd be driving it around during any natural disaster versus an electric vehicle.

Gas prices have not increased in about 40 years when adjusted for inflation.

Inflation Adjusted Gasoline Prices (1978-2020)
Category: Gasoline (All types, Per gallon)

YearAverage Gasoline Prices by Year*Average Annual CPI for Gasoline**Gas Prices Adjusted for Inflation

1978                        2.438 gal

1998                        2.364 gal

2020                        2.242 gal

I think the Oil Companies are gaming us.

If you think gas prices are going to be the same as 40 years ago then the average price of a car would be around $7,000 right now.
