Live Hunt w/LPJR & Haskell Hunter/North Country

Back at the cabin for a warm lunch and the afternoon strategy. Tons of deer sign where we were, it was just a few days old. 

The town of Pittsburg, NH is 250 square miles. You can hunt nearly all of it. To give you an idea of the difference from hunting in NJ:  in NJ if you walk a mile or two in any direction you’ll reach civilization. Here, walking 7 miles in any direction just means your in ME or Canada, but still in the forest.

Humbling is the word. Back at the cabin for a couple. We were up at 2400 feet at times and the deer are like mountain goats up here. Several sets of deer tracks were a few hours old...Flushed 2 big partridges at the top and saw several big gobblers after on the way back down.

Good luck guys , looking like you’re in some awesome. Country ! we’re looking forward to the snow coming in tomorrow afternoon , should ramp things Since were walking on ice Over here  . No sneaking up on anything ! Just had shots ring out on the next mountain over , my cousin knocked down a 6 pointer .

Day 1 in the books...got on some deer tonight before dark and one of the guys cut a big fresh track. I came upon some good tracks and we are getting a game plan together now for the morning at the crack of dawn. Supposed to get 3-5 additional inches of snow here starting at 1000 hours.

Not in NH , but Just outside of Rangeley, Maine . 1 buck down still have three guys on the hunt come Monday .

Met up with one of our friend's buddy who is the CO up here at the check station tonight. It was Chris Egan who is featured on North Woods Law on the Animal Planet network. He said he has been kept very busy the last 2 weeks to say the least.
