Will an 8 always be an 8?

if you mean will a 6.5 year old 8pt always be an 8 - I would say that other than some junk or stickers, will always be a mainframe 8.   But seen far too may 2.5 and 3.5 year old 8's become mainframe 10 points.   by age 4

Heck a mainframe 9pt by age 5 or 6, will probably never pick up that second g4...

“Mature” to a good deer manager is 5y/o or older.  Most any wild buck has reached its potential at this point and will not gain anything more but maybe mass or stickers.  Most hunters judge a big deer thinking its mature usually by the size of its antlers where a large majority of “mature” bucks are only 3y/0 deer with possibly much more potential.

I remember as a kid my dad looking at women at the shore and my mom telling him you wouldn't know what to do with it if you had it.
