What are the odds of Ice Fishing NJ this winter?

I say very low odds we get sustainable safe ice. I do miss it though just seems like it never happens anymore.   However starting Monday - there is some ice making potential but still not optimal some mid 40 day temps still mixed in with some teens at night. Only good thing about a mild winter is lower heat bills.

IF we get 5 inches of ice or more, I will go for sure. If not, guaranteed to ice fish PA and/or NY.

Loving the mild winter .. keep it coming. could go for alittle less rain  though if I'm being picky.  I've only had the heat on for maybe 6 hours total aND  not even using that much wood either.

slim to none. i cant believe its 50 out right now. i would like a winter where the rivers freeze. 

time will tell though. jan and feb could get pretty cold.

I bought ice fishing rods and tip ups a couple of months ago so I’m pretty certain it will be too warm to ice fish this year. Murphy’s Law.

Last year we had two weeks of safe ice in February. It was the first I went ice fishing in a long time.

Back in the 90's we would have 8-10 inches of safe ice by New Year's

We had a pretty long ice season last year. I’m itching to get out! It’s not looking promising but have a long winter still. Anything can happen.

I wont worry until Feb …but i did just buy a really nice Striker Ice Climate float suit soooo….probably no ice .

Never went ice fishing. . I live in the deep south (Gloucester County)   We never get fishable ice.
