Those of us that fish the hatches for trout see them frequently. They love to eat the same mayflies as the trout eat and flutter over rivers to pick them off midair.

You heard them and you have seen them. The problem is they are small and from a distance they don’t look like anything special. Very common in nj

Oh damn. Didn’t realize it was small. In the pic it looks like the size of a robin . In my yard I have a ton of finch size birds. Probably some are cedar waxwings. Gonna look for sure.

Closer to Cardinal size. As @Lunaticsaid, they are actually very common here.
