Over the years the US has sent many of its fine young men & women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return, is enough to bury those that did not return. COLIN POWELL

Can't believe it. Again. Grunted him from over 75 yards away. He is down at 30. On cloud 9! My friends know this the 8 I have been on. He showed on the Reveal last night and I felt tonight was the night with every bone in my body.

I'm deep in. Lots of work to do. Pics tonight.

Love this time of year!!

****Just left Frankie's.*****

What a night. Last fall EHD hit hard but on November 1st I had a great buck travel through a saddle at this stand checking for does. I decided not to stand up with the Mathews because he came in quick. Ended up shooting him high and never found him. Haunted me since at this particular stand location.

Fast forward to this past week. Was teaching and instructing at Wayne Police Department each day this past week certifying 18 officers. Thursday we had a wedding and I did not teach..I took that time to move one of my cell cameras to the spot where I lost the buck.  I then received several pics of does and a mature 8 and knew it was time to get in there.

Grabbed my extended permit and got on stand at 1500 hours today.

At 1700 hours I heard a deer over 125 yards away and see a doe trying to lose another deer on her ass. It was him. At the same time I hear walking from my left and see a small 4 pointer stop and stare up the mountain.

I took out my extinguisher and grunted 3 times and the 8 was too far away to hear it. As I watched him follow the doe away from me I grunted LOUD 2 more times. The buck stopped and turned looking my way.

He is now coming and is pissed. At 55 yards he rubs a tree that was in the way of him and what he thought was the other buck. The 4 pointer was now at 18 yards away chasing a small doe in circles.

The buck sees the 4 and starts coming with his ears pinned back. He looked like a bull walking towards my stand. When he was at 16 yards I mouth grunted and stopped him. The bolt disappeared into the crease just where I wanted it.

He took off like a freight train and snowplowed into the leaves. He was down 35 yards away. The hypodermic did not disappoint and did it's job. I literally was shaking..

Told several buddies about possibly hunting the stand where I lost the buck last year. Huge thanks to @3Bladefor telling me I'm nuts for not hunting it yet this year since EHD didn't hit there.

Attached some pics below. Like I have said in the past, this is the time to be in the woods. I felt with every bone in my body that I was going to see the buck tonight that was on my camera.

Hope this feeling in the woods never comes to an end.
