Why don't New Yorkers just stay in NY if they love it so much?  Cuomo consistently says he is so proud to be Gov of NY.   If NY is such a great place all of them should just stay there but they don't.   Why, you ask?  Good question.  

They "know" they will die there if they get Coronavirus because the city is overwhelmed.  They come to Jersey because they have a a better chance, no guarantee, but a better chance of surviving during this chaos.  

Don't take my word for it, just ask anyone here who is a NY resident why they came here.   They know what will happen if they stay in NY.  Thousands of people have come to NJ from NY, college students, relatives, family members.   Now we have to worry about community spread from them, not us, because the chances they are carrying it are greater than us carrying it.   Murphy should close the border but he does not want to anger the KING of NY, Cuomo.

He's walking back his stated mortality rates.  Earlier he said 10x the flu season.  Now it's closer to a bad flu season.  That's almost a factor of ten!

Not true.

Right now we have a test that can determine if you have Covid 19 (15 minutes) and another test that can tell if you had Covid-19 and hence may be immune. 

Both have been FDA approved.

All we need to do is mass produce them and test.  No reason those that are immune should not go back to work.  No reason those that do not have Covid-19 cannot go back to work.

Does the virus spread through recreational waterways?

The virus has been shown to remain viable and infectious, at least temporarily, in natural freshwater environments including lakes and streams. While dilution is suspected to keep the risk low, high concentrations of the viable COVID-19 virus could put freshwater recreation users at risk. There was no information shared on the ability of the COVID-19 virus to remain viable in saltwater, so it’s unclear if swimming at saltwater beaches elevates the risk of contracting COVID-19. However, communal spread is a serious issue so spending time at popular beaches, if in close contact to other beachgoers, will increase your risk.

How could the virus even get into recreational waterways?

Like many harmful viruses and pathogens, the main exposure risk to the water recreation community is from sewage pollution. The release of raw or undertreated sewage into our surface waterways can cause diseases to spread through the “fecal-oral transmission route.” In other words, when we recreate at the beach during a sewage spill or release of undertreated wastewater, we risk ingesting fecal-borne pathogens that can cause symptoms like stomach upset; ear, eyes, nose and throat infections; as well as more severe infections like E. Coli, MRSA, giardia, hepatitis, and worse.

News from the front line.......my brother works at a Staten Island hospital  .....he is  in charge of the food for patients and the cafeteria etc.......they normally have  to feed 200-300 people , they are preparing to feed 800-1200 daily........his boss told him money is no object order whatever food you can get from your suppliers.......2 floors just for COVID  patients......

NYC needed to be full lockdown 2 weeks ago. Nobody leaves. Nobody enters. With the exception of food and obvious necessities. Short term rentals need to be stopped. In Sussex county the lake communities and other short term rentals are full of New York plates. It is absolute bullshit. How do you mitigate the spread of a virus when no steps are being taken to contain the carriers.

Heard this morning that Abbott Labs has the test results down to 5 min.

Could not have said it better.  This is the problem, we are told "stay home",  "stop community spread",  impossible to do if possibly infected people are coming here from out of state and staying in our communities.  Murphy needs to close the border now or our rates will continue going up.

Even if these people are coming, If you stay home, wash your hands, practice social distancing...you wont get sick.
