Popular Post Msgdan
It wasn't the conditions I was expecting this morning, but with the only window I had for this week and next week not looking too good, I gave it a shot from the kayak. I did make my season's first trip last Sunday for 3 hours before work and had a great morning with 20 bass landed with the biggest being almost 34 inches and all the rest between 26 and 30 inches. With the wind against the tide this morning, it took me over an hour to figure out the right drift and trying to keep the wind from blowing my kayak against the shore. I wound up landing 8 bass in the last 90 minutes and lost a bunch more. Using a 3/4 ounce blade bait with small hooks it seems like I miss more hook ups than fish hooked and landed, but when I tried putting on bigger hooks, it messed up the action and the results were worse. Still , getting out in 38 degrees with a 10 to 15 mph wind, and landing a few bass before having to rush home to get to work.....I call that a great day !!! gregtpal, JFC1, rgw and 32 others 30
