Grazed buck - who's responsible?

Pretty sure this deer was grazed prior to this youth hunter harvesting it. Could be from fighting but my guess is not.
 
Kid wanted it the way he was when he shot it. Great buck for sure! Lots of character. Can't see in the pic, but it even had a 2" tine below the browtine that grew folded over and down the back of the beam. Great character to the rack.
 
Now fess up- who grazed him?
