The deer from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow that ran along side of the Headless Horseman when he was chasing Ichabod Crane so I'd say 1819 or 202 years old ?

Yes to a degree, but about the same as using antler mass as a factor I believe. 
They’re both useful, but body characteristics should be enough to get as close as any other criteria to get close to an accurate age class.
