I doubt it, but we should take well over 500 this year.  Maybe not all of them during the first season this coming week, but when combined with 6 Day, I would think that or more.  One thing is for certain, there are friggin' bears EVERYWHERE up here in northern NJ!  I've lived in this house for 19 years and we only started seeing them every once in awhile maybe 7 or 8 years ago and now we are seeing them daily in the 'hood.  This isn't what I would call prime bear territory either.

I'd say 630.  We're going to be short because the season is short.  Better to do incremental managed hunts to see what the affect is on the population.  My guess is that in a few years we'll have bow, muzzy and shotgun seasons.

no reason to NOT have a spring season though. It would not be as well attended  for sure, just the hardcore guys (not me). But still would be a great thing to have.

We killed over 500 last year without an early season. 1,000 is a realistic number for all seasons combined.
