Bassguy247 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I was on the unspeakable site and posted my story there and I would love to show it here for all to see. Hard work and determination paid off... The weather was perfect as me and my friend made our way to the blowdown to sit for the opener of 6 day. Our first sign of action was a monster bear that was coming in from our left at around 7am with the blood pumping we hope for another encounter with a nj giant black bear. My friend got up to stretch and saw one coming in from our right. Yes another big bear around 758am. This bear stayed to our right at about 35yrds with not much of a shot opportunity until I saw what was the only opening I had. SA told me to take the shot and that bear made its way past the opening and I pulled the trigger . With emotions running high I wanted to get up and check right away. But I had my uncle come up from Bergen county and buckfever1974( Brian) which I can't be thankful enough for you both today. We gave the bear time and my uncle, swampassasin and myself went to the sight of the shot. No blood for 15 yards then it was a absolutly perfect blood trail that went 60 yrds from the shot to the beast NJ bear. I yelled and screamed at the top of my lungs because I was on top of the world . With picture taken and such buck fever came to help with what came to be one intense drag. After hauling it through some of the thick stuff taking well into over 2 hrs of pulling and pushed the sled that was collapsing as we went on. We finally got to the truck and all of us looked in awe and myself as well knowing I harvested one of nj's giants . More pictures were taken and got him to the checkin station and the to jersey Jay's which it was great meeting you today! And then To the butcher. And then back to Jay's again to get everything squared away for a shoulder mount that I am beyond excited for to pick up next year. A day I will never forget and and I and beyond thankful for my uncle and my two great friends for being there to help me out and be a part of what sure is the highlight of my hunting career . So here is the pictures of the bear ..........647.9lbs Haskell_Hunter, MackofallTrades, rossbowhunter and 5 others 8
3Blade Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Wow...That's a trophy bear!! Congrats!!!! I cant imagine what its like trying to get that out of the woods.
BowhunterNJ Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Holy crap that is huge! Congratulations! You just throw it over your shoulder and walk out? Haha. How do you guys get something that big out of the woods?
Bassguy247 Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 It took me and my 2 friends along with my uncle to drag the bruin out . Back breaking but a memory that we all will never forget Rusty 1
Rusty Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I was on the unspeakable site and posted my story there and I would love to show it here for all to see. You can say New Jersey Hunter here no problem, but if you mention other sites over there you get banned. For the NJH owners it's all about making money, over here it's about hunting and fishing. rgw Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 that sled you have is awesome. I was at check station tagging my bear when you were there, cant believe it took 4 of us to hook it up on the scale, congrats again on the bear
Haskell_Hunter Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 There's another site? Bah, there's only one. Nice pig bruin you shot there! Congrats! That's a monster memory! Sapere aude. Audeamus. When you cannot measure, your knowledge is meager and unsatisfactory.
BowhunterNJ Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 that sled you have is awesome. I was at check station tagging my bear when you were there, cant believe it took 4 of us to hook it up on the scale, congrats again on the bear I was thinking a sled is probably a must have to drag one of those things out. Something slick bottomed to make the drag resistance a lot less!

JHbowhunter Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 huge congrats - that's a major fawn-eater right there. Could it be your bear of a lifetime? Nah - not if you keep at it in this state. Please get the skull measured, you probably have a Boone & Crockett Bear, and quite possibly make the "all time" record listing. Nothing spooks deer more than my stank… 16 3/4” Live Fluke Release Club I shot a big 10pt once….
Tarhunt Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Nice bear! There were (1) 500 plus pound and (3) 600 pound plus shot on opening day. Congrats! "The Nation Which Forgets Its Defenders, Will Itself Be Forgotten".
