Early Rut?

What are the chances that the peak has passed this year? The last week of October (before permit opened), my camera was on fire. I had different giants showing during daylight, mid-day, sometime 2, 3 different bucks in a day. Got a picture of a doe getting dogged by a buck…this week I’ve spent 2 full days on the stand and haven’t seen shit. Only daylight pic on cam is a spike.

A spike and a 3 pointer that's all I've seen. Really strange.

I was beginning to think the same but my cams lit up, in daylight hours today, and its on again!!

What you witnessed is more than likely the peak seeking phase peak breeding is usually slower as bucks are locked with does you will see chasing and seeking again once those dies are bred

There are a lot less Doe so the rut period is not that crazy as years past.  We used to see large groups of Does but not anymore. My area anyway.

This cold snap has them running, saw 15 bucks in the last two days in my travels

I would say this full moon had peak breeding right about now in z5.  Mature bucks were on feet last week into Monday morning even with the heat.  Now only bucks seem to be moving are the young ones that can’t get a date.

I had not seen any movement until yesterday afternoon and It was insane. I think the peak is now. Who knows, could be wrong....

I have a few big ones back on the love train again today.

Almost 18hrs in std past two days. Z15/50 and not a single deer has moved past 4 diff. Stds

I finally saw a nice thick palmated 6-7 nose down in the woods and had a doe last night for the first time in 2 months...I think my area is getting a late start here. even around me deer were non existent at night and ive been spotlighting to see and there was no chasing just deer grazing. I think we are starting now.

I've been seeing pretty heavy buck movement since about 10/21 and straight through yesterday, in Z12. Daytime and night.

Well after posting this with 5 mins of light left a real nice 8 or 9 pt came in on the drag tag trail. He never gave me a shot tho, and smelled something he liked upwind and took off

Depends on where you are. I was at a spot today that had no scrapes last week but today there was a bunch that were opened up
