Fluke beat down

Fluke fishing has been about as good as it gets Oceanside .

slot regs are bullshit , as we are throwing back dozens of 19’-24” fish back every day looking for slot fish .

Today was the only day we didn’t limit out . Shy by two slot fish .

Wednesday fished with John  and Rocky . 3 man limit plus 
Thursday fished solo had a limit in an hour .

‘Saturday fished with Eddie and Austin , 3 man limit .

‘Sunday Was Tracey’s day , had a limit by 8 am and threw back another 2 dozen quitting at 11.

‘Monday fished with Eddie , Austin , and rocky . 10 in the box . Eddie and I had limits , other guys were a slot shy . Quit at noon to beat the holiday traffic .

Nice, flukin has been hot. The slots are there just have to go through the shorts and overs to get em. Took us a while for a 4 man limit Saturday due to the slot limit

Yet if they claim the mortality is 40 % and you throw back 25 fish over 19” to find 2 shorts . What did you accomplish ? 

You over fish by 10.

biggest class of fish Oceanside are 19 1/2” to 23’ right now .

Next biggest set are 16 1/2” 

not a lot of fish in between those sizes right now .

I hear ya but not much we can do at this point, slot obviously should’ve been a larger range but it’s not. So if we want limits we are stuck sorting through a bunch. But at the same time when the limit was 18” many guys on great days were throwing 18”-21” over to keep looking for fish in the 23”and up category so in essence were contributing to the mortality as well

Not at a rate of about 25/1 .

and don’t worry , everything we throw back will start to get cleaned up quick .
