3 weeks and the fun begins .

I like early season hunt at bentcreek everything is six feet tall and very thick= lots of bird most are lucky to kill half of what they put out. Am down to one dog and have been to busy to get him out all summer his eyelid’s got a chance to grew back so I’m looking forward to early season birds. Then a week In Maine for grouse and woodcock. And I Will get all my deer permits for my big pot of permit stew got cams out but no shooters yet. But I’ll sit anyways as usual

I'm not going to miss a day I can be in the woods hunting.  Don't care if it's 95* and I see nothing for 6 weeks. No different than scouting and checking cams all summer, except now I'll be carrying and sitting more than walking.  Going to be too crunchy to stillhunt if the weather doesn't change.

First week or two  is a great time to get a big one, after that it’s tough until rut. I’ll be trying to get a doe as quickly as I can.

Yeah time is flying.  Hope the heat does not continue into the fall. But I will hunt as long as I see a shooter on camera
