With the great weather the next few weeks , I wish it was like the last few years and we had the CR period .

I don't fish for the stocks that much anymore , but seeing the stocking always brings a smile. Brings back a ton of memories!

Still can’t figure out why the lakes  that are stocked here in south Jersey are closed to all fishing til opening day. They literally dump em in on wed or thurs before.

I saw a stocking truck in Flemington this morning.

Walked out my door yesterday and saw the truck backing down the path to the Rahway River down the street from me.......I hurried down there and spoke with the guys and watched them stock.....120 trout and a few really big ones......nice guys.......

I seem to catch alot of small Brookies in the Black River and Pequest ! But havent hit a big one yet !?

Those are probably natives. States not going to stock them again.

Black river especially in the park has two small streams that hold wild brookies 
Thats what you are catching in the main river

TCAs and No-kills are shoulder to shoulder right now. This is the reason we successfully pushed to allow private clubs to stay open on a catch and release basis during this closed season which spreads out anglers at least a little bit more.  Our spring hatches are starting and trout are actively feeding.

Just head to a WTS and catch all the wild brookies you can. Plenty of native brook trout streams in NJ.
