First recurve deer.

Wow, lots of arrows! My PH in South Africa had something to say about Archery Hunting:
"That's why the Indians lost the war and the Cavalry won".

First one would have been lethal but I am of the belief to keep shooting if you can. It can only make it bleed more and die sooner.

Congrats Rick. Puts some fun back into hunting

John,

The adrenaline rush was like when I first started hunting. It was awesome and made an absolutely miserably cold and windy day great! I literally was about to call it a day when it showed up. Now I can't wait to get back out there and I am usually burnt out by now.

Congrats!!!
And I agree. Shot a doe last week with my slug gun at about 50yards to the left of the stand I was in, and after jumping and running a couple yards she started casually walking and feeding like nothing was wrong. She continued walking and feeding directly in front of me and I shot again once she stepped into a lane again at 50yds and dropped shortly after. When I walked up to it I saw the first shot was lethal (lung) and would’ve died anyway, but it was worth it to me to make sure I didn’t just wound it.

Deer are impressive with how long they can keep going sometimes…
