For the last two years I’ve been practicing, learning how to build arrows, sharpen broadheads and “perfect” my form and release. I’ve had many close encounters and a few misses but today was different. I had this guy come in to a scent wick, stopped to make a scrape then stepped in front of my blind at around 10-12 yards. Thankfully my aim was true and the wood arrow tipped with a single bevel Grizzly hit its mark, he ran no more than 50 yards and expired. What a rush, what an honor to be able to harvest a deer with a recurve. I try to honor all the deer I’m fortunate enough to take, this one is a special one.

Nice work, you put in a lot of time and practice and it paid off. Congratulations.
