Any Fitness Goals for 2020?

Ok here are my old fit pics (numbered from the bottom up)

1- me crossing the finish line at Ridgewood 10K 1983

2- me in my martial arts/ body guard/ bouncer days circa 1975

3- me with my first bow circa 1977

4- me doing leg extensions with my 1YO son riding on my ankle 1980 or 82

It's hard to believe that I became so fat.

Scientifically speaking, lifting weights burns more calories/per time put in unless you are HIIT training. When I was training from Ironman- I was doiing insane cardio- I hit a limit on weight loss. added weight training and shed pounds faster. 

 

ideally a combo of both is best. If time is an issue: high intensity intervals are best. Run/walk in 30 mins will burn more than a 30 min jog any day. 

 

I was overweight. Made a goal to complete an ironman. hired a professional trainer- lost 40 pounds and ate whatever i wanted. fast forward a few years and im overweight...but an ironman hahah

 

My goal for 2020 is:

marathon

100 mile bike race

3 mile open water swim

 

Just not in the same day....

 

im always the guy representing the big guys!

Nope, no fitness goals for me. I'm good. Only because that some years back I was hit with a few serious health issues … from all the years of stupid neglect and abuse. If I wanted to live a (hopefully) long and healthy life, I had to change my life. Nothing radical … just common sense stuff, and dedication.  Luckily, the human body can heal … sometimes amazingly so.

Old photos … here I am dropping back into coverage in 1976. Then came the decades of being dumb. Even raising three sons, I had them to do all the physical work around the house, and stuff.  I hope my kids do as I say, and not what I did. lol

Yep last night I figured I would cook up some chicken breast and green beans. When I saw those green beans sautéing all by themselves lonely in that pan I gave them some friends and it was damn good! :up:
