Nowadays my wife doesn't ask.  Having 2 boys now hunting she's used to seeing gun cases walking in and out of the house.  Lol.  She did growl a bit when I brought home a second gun safe last year.   LOL!

Keep the compound and buy the crossbow if that's what you really want to do. Get all of your toys now before you are married. Much easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. She doesn't really have a say on how you spend your money until you are married. Once you are married half of your money is hers and forgiveness and permission gets much harder. Good luck with the sale (or purchase of your new crossbow).

Lots of good advice here SSlayer....Good luck with the sale. But don't sell it if you see yourself looking to buy another Triax down the road..Argue a bit, buy the crossbow and keep the Triax. Good luck...
