Ice Fishing Season - Review- Pic Heavy

Hey all- had a fun ice season for the time we had ice. I don’t think I’m done but will be doing some driving to make it happen. Here are a few “best of class” and some not. Think I landed roughly 2,500-3,000 through the ice this year! All but one bucket of nice yellows and a few others lived to fight another day. Best single day roughly 3-400, Best single hole stopped counting at 100 (all nice pumpkin seed, crappie, bluegills, white and yellow perch, large and small mouth- 1 hole). Worst day sun up to sun down two of us 9 fish total! I am looking forward to spring I guess. Something to look at since hunting season ended!

You had a great season! I only got out twice, never had time to get to my "good lakes", was hoping to in February but then came several thaws, and a broken wrist.

 

Questions - I think that is a Landlock Salmon with the forked tail, correct? Do you only jig, or do you put tip-ups in?

JH- Sorry to hear about the wrist, that's a tough one! Yes, that is a landlocked Salmon and I only jig.  I fish with a Vexilar FLX-28, and move quite a bit!
