Question for you, I always burn red oak because that's what is all over my property and Irene and Sandy gave me years worth, my neighbor just cut down two cherry trees, I have the wood all cut into logs , is it easy to split and does it burn hotter then oak ? He said they died 2 years ago .

It splits easy, it burns well but not as hot as oak  IMO
