Yesterday I cleared a 2 foot wide path to my stand/ camera.  I was armed with this tiny electric chain saw and a gas powered pole saw with a 12 inch bar.

There was some crazy thick brush with wild rose, blackberry vines and brush, the thickest part was through an overgrown power line, all total I had about 300 yards that needed clearing.  My purpose was so I can walk to my stand as quietly as possible, and create a natural deer trail that will lead deer directly to my stand.

I used the mini chain saw for 2 hours before the battery died and I had to switch to gas powered.  I abused the hell out of that little saw  and it just kept cutting, like a hot knife through butter.  I actually got better cuts and a better result using the e-saw than I did with the 12" gas saw. 

If you want to cut shooting lanes or open up a path I can strongly recommend this saw, I paid $40 for it on Amazon and worth every penny.

It looks like a toy, believe me it amazed me how well it cut.  It is rated #1 on amazon #1 in Power Chain Saws!!!!!!

Can see it coming down the pike! Charging stations in the woods. Mandatory by 2030. Extension chords..need the special permit. Particular length of cutting bar. Anything over 4 1/2 inch

$40 saw and battery.  Another $40 for extra battery.  Might as well order 2 saws with 1 battery each if you want the extra battery

My neighbor had one about 5 years ago and I was amazed at how good they were. That price makes it almost irresistible, but it expires in 5 hours. I already have 3 battery operated chainsaws of various sizes or I would buy it.

Crazy cheap for a battery tool . With 2 batteries first one you posted is also 79 bucks .

i have an EGO battery pole saw . Was a lot more money as its a huge battery . Works awesome .

but def sounds like you got great run time on the one you bought .

great how quiet they cut

 

one you posted probably also be great for breaking down an elk . Years back they used to use a Mac 10 with vegetable oil in bar reserve

What do you guys recommend for a pole chainsaw? Battery or gas, and what brands?
