Feeling blessed. Very thankful! I have no history with this buck until May this year. He is very mature. It all came together last night. Finally had some wind to keep my stank away from stand and it started NE which was perfect then briefly went NW which was bad but then went W which made it a little better for me than the deer but again - at least had some airflow. Had a nice 3 yr old 8 snort 80 yards out in the brush but based on wind it was not at me. Here comes a big bobcat walking right toward him and got real close before buck snorted some more and trotted off. Last hour of light I spot my target. My heart pounding. Would he scent me? Well he puts on a 35 minute slow motion show. Posturing against two spikes and the same 8 that bobcat spooked. I passed up a 40 a 35 and a 30 yard shot. It’s a long season I am only taking the highest percentage shot possible. I was rewarded with a 23 yard broadside and the Magnus black hornet took out his pump station! This buck green scored 145 4/8 gross to my surprise - I figured he would be mid 130s but those beams were 24” and deceiving and carried mass all the way through. Massive G2’s.
