A quick look at these 2 marine summary cards shows how bad a job our fisheries are being managed .

 

what’s going to happen in the next 10 years .

Look at size as well as bag limits between the two cards

Yeah its changed alot. Only the stripers have done good since then.

If other fish were managed by slot limits they’d flourish also.

Chesapeake run of striped bass is on the verge of crashing .

‘luckily for ya up north the Hudson strain is doing well .

but without repair to the Chesapeake fish all fish caught on their east migration from NJ kept in other states will be Hudson fish , and they could quickly be hurt .

 

‘’hopefully with most cow stripers being outside the slot they recover quickly .

It was pretty rare to ever get 8 legal fluke, even rarer now to get 3- If I get 3 in the year I am happy or lucky

I do salt very very rarely but many of the old timers I know / knew  ( guys in their 70's) for years would just keep everything......they ruined it for everyone.......it s like if you go to Europe you dont see as many birds as you do here.......they ate them all.......

We never had a problem boating our limits of eight fish a person .

Three fish limit is a joke . Many times we are throwing fish back before 8 am

With the lack of fish now, most days you would struggle to catch an eight fish limit unless they lowered the keeper size . I fish often so I don't mind the 3 fish limit and playing catch and release after
