I haven't fished salt water in a while but this is depressing.  Weakfish literally disappeared from one season to another after a banner year.  Bluefish at times wouldn't allow your bait to get down to the stripers and were always plentiful.  I taught my girls to fish on snappers as far as saltwater (Sunnies for fresh water) and would throw them back along with bluefish.  There can't be any other way to look at this situation as drastic mismanagement and to think livelihoods are at stake.
