FINALLY took the time to finish setting up a new 3D bow today with this great weather .

just a quick paper tune , set center shot on the scope .

first group at 40 yards shown .

shot about 100 arrows from there punching out the dot .

Will walk back tune it the next warm day , and have it ready to shoot some 3d again .

‘Def need to build some muscle tone , as 100 arrows whooped me pretty good .

That needs to tighten up . Want those groups at 60 yards .

‘But it’s a start ,once I finish tuning it .

And getting myself in shape those groups will shrink to where I want them .

Nice shootin Dan, im still concentrating on indoors right now but did shoot indoor 3d at garden state couple weeks ago.  Another money 3d shoot at garden state on march 12!  Nice to be outside and shoot some distance with some good weather!

Just did the same thing today ! Finally had to add a 4x lens to see the rings. Lol.

just made up a set of BLACK EAGLE. Ps 23’s.

350 spine , total arrow weight 378gr. 

I like to be a tool though and shoot all black vanes and nocks.

i put my TRIAX in the shop today for new string/cables after 4 seasons.    No 3D for me but it is a great hobby for sure!

Dan - never too old to try for olympics!  Go for it

Old eyes def make seeing those rings tougher . I may do the same or will shoot a clarifier.

 

My last set up I was shooting  63# shooting 318 grain 3-28 acc .

so even the SuperDrive 19 are much larger .

I see many guys shooting the bigger line cutters , but those big shafts grab the wind more than I like .

and the thinner shafts have a heavier wall to take some abuse .

Will see how they work , and make changes from there .

 Not to jump the thread, but we should do a woods and water 3D meet up. There are plenty of local shoots where a few members could get in touch ahead of time and put together a few shooting squads …keep score for fun , bragging rights, top prize an all inclusive shad trip - fully guided by JH !

Getting old Jack , just want to shoot for fun knowing I will have more time soon .

serious competing takes more time and effort than I have now . But def miss that atmosphere

Yup, i shoot 25’s when the conditions are good. They fly like kites in the wind ! Drop down to 23’s for more wind. Just have to adjust the rest a bit and they group the same . Both sets are within 5 grains .
