You are high if you are hunting in this crap

I got up at 4:30, heard the rain and went back to bed. My wife left for work, the kids left for school, the rain stopped and I’m off today.

I packed a lunch and I’m in the stand for as long as the weather holds out. Cloudy, breezy, and warm but no rain so far.

The weather here in Virginia is crap too. Plus, I found about 50 angry wasps in my ladder stand yesterday. I'm going back this afternoon to kill them before they kill me. I'm using that stand tomorrow morning for the muzzy opener and I'd rather not be stung at 6:00am.

Just sprayed them. They were living inside the shoot rail and under my seat. I'm so glad that I checked my stand yesterday. That would of sucked for me. I would of ended up looking like Jack's buck with the big balls. LOL!

Ok I wish I never posted the thread......my taxidermist just posted the 3rd big buck of the morning and said everyone should be out there in a tree today. I'm wrong, ignorant and clearly incorrect.  Everyone go about your business and leave me in my pile of abject anger until I get out again on Sunday............

If I get a big buck tonight, I'll make sure that I rub it in.

Tarhunt I hope you get the buck and post a pic here.  I will happily eat some humble pie as long as there is some deer porn as a sidedish lol.  Good luck and hope you get one!

Thanks. There's been no daytime deer activity down here at all. I was going to sit in my ground blind this afternoon along an edge of a field but, I may to go into the swamp and set up on some deer trails. It's also 73 degrees so, I don't know if that's affecting them or not.

I hunted Pike Count Il., one year early bow season. Hot weather moved in and we had 70 degrees. There were 10 guys in camp and all but I and another guy refused to go out and hunt. I didn't see any bucks but the other guy shot a beautiful 18 pt none typical.

Its the rut, get out and hunt every moment you have, they will not run between your recliner and your TV.

Deer run between my recliner and tv all the time during the rut.  Oh wait.  That is only when I'm having flashbacks to Grateful Dead concerts in the mid-late 80's.  Nevermind.  Move along and nothing to see here............:elch::whacky::bonk:

Getting hammered by mosquitos worse than I did in the early season and I tripped over this guy on my way in, he's the 3rd one I saw today.

But I'm not at work so I can stay home and paint the dinning room for my wife
