Popular Post hemlock
I started out this morning with a great morning I saw several bucks but nothing I wanted to shoot. So I headed back to another stand where a thicket meets the cattails always been a good rut spot killed some older bucks there. Well I was in stand only 10 minutes and I hear crashing a solid my guess 115 inch 8 point that no question was what I said I want or better. He just was that kind of buck perfect and all of the sudden he looks behind him and I see the piebald and I see antlers and it has been a goal of mine to get a piebald buck one day. So I let the big 8 walk and the dang piebald split and I was like sh!t!! Know I'm sitting there saying to myself the 8 is bigger but god please bring that piebald back. And a while went bye and I look at this sapling swaying back and fourth and I put the binos on it and I see white patches at 60 yards very thick so my heart starts pounding out of my chest. And here I have a normal great buck in 12 yards earlier and was calm as a cucumber. The dang thought of me getting my first piebald had me feel like I did when I was 12 years old and got my first bow doe in 1982. So anyway he starts heading my way and turns the other way i'm like no please no lol And a doe pops up between us and she comes to me like on a string. And I see him turn slowly around and he spots her comes charging towards me stops 40 yards starts rubbing the hell out of a sapling for a few minutes. And the doe is literally standing 6 yards from me this entire time. I am sitting there like come on man finish the damn rub already I cant take it And finally he walks right in I waited until he turned broadside and stopped and took out both lungs he went 75-80 yards. I new he was no giant but that did not matter to me it was the fact he was something I hoped to harvest someday. I felt like I was on cloud 9 following the blood trail until it lead me to my buck. A great hunt. Rusty, _X7, outdoorslife and 22 others
