That is a good pic. It is funny you post this, the other day I almost went face first into one on the side of customers house and almost fell backwards to avoid it. Cool pic but they freak me out!!

great pic - I used to get one on my deck every early fall - not this year.   Common Orb Weaver I believe.  They did a good job on the moth population.

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

Great picture.  The photography class is outside this month taking pictures of spiders and things so I go out during my free periods.

 

Jack is right, it's an Orb Weaver, the Marbled Orb Weaver.

spiders are cool, as long as they are not in my house. i have been feeding a grass spider ants that lives in my wood pile. grass spiders are quick!

about the size of the top of a soda can. lightening fast too. second that ant drops on the web, if you blink, you missed it.
