I'm stumped

Down here in Florida at my parents.  Made a few casts in the back yard snd came up with this.   I looked but can't seem to figure out species.  I'm guessing some kind of snapper.  No teeth

Looks like a school master snapper , but false eye at tail is weird

If they were cold water fish I would love to try them, but out of a warm Florida lake or canal......no thanks.

Its a piney thing, provides better flotation walking on the sand
