Gun question

Just curious to see what guys think between an AR in 556 or carbine type in 9mm in a if the sh— hits the fan situation. I plan on getting an AR soon(So you know, I am the  farthest thing from a gun expert so just looking for thoughts and opinions)

I lean more towards the 9mm carbine and have had this one on the top of my wish list for the past couple of years.

Both if you can get them. I'd even suggest an AK. A 7.62 round is very common in other parts of the world.

I vote for two flex AR tags.... 

1) .223 / 556 for picking them off before they get in the house

2) 9mm/ or 450 blackout for when they get into the house

The 5.56 is MUCH louder inside a house than a 9mm.

If you’re “bugging out” and will be away from home on foot Id say 5.56. If you’re in or around home Id choose carbine 100%

a plus for the 9mm carbine is one ammo for both your handgun and rifle... but if you will need a long gun with some reach than the ar will do the job better .. there is plenty of both 9mm and 556/223 ammo out there

Undecided!  there is an indoor range in Lakewood NJ  where you Can rent one and many more firearms, and most time just for the cost of the Amoo.

Nothing beats a short barrel shot gun a bit more messy but effective

5.56 soft tip bonded defensive ammo hits ALOT harder than 9mm defensive ammo even out of a long barrel.

My thinking is the 556/223  is good for longer and short ranges. And in a survival situation it can double as a deer killer if need be(I know it’s not the best round for that but it is still capable). Inside I am covered with the shotgun and 9mm pistol already.

5.56 evolved from .223 which came from .222 rem mag which came from .222 which was a popular deer cartridge at its time. Soft point ammo/right projectile and excellent shot placement will make it work well.
