Just picked up some more finished lots from the tannery today.I absolutely love this time of the year I actually hate to see it go when it gets boxed up and sent on its way.

What are those white ones with the black tip on the tail?

In the first pick - the middle fur - is that a grey fox? That looks really, really nice. Beautiful silver color.

Ermine in their winter coat.

Silver fox, which is one of the color variations of the red fox.

Ermine - interesting. Never heard of them.. Cute little guys  Do we have them here in NJ? Never saw them mentioned in the trapping stuff I studied.

They are also called Stoat or Short-tailed weasel.

It's a weasel, yes we have plenty in NJ

No kidding, thanks. I said that already. I didn’t feel the need to go into the three types of weasels. 

There are long tailed, short tailed, and least weasels. There are no Least Weasels in NJ. They are referred to as ermines because of their white, winter coat
