Just got in from hitting the shrews and Navesink.  Total bust. 3 guys fished. 3pm to 8.  One missed fish on a bucktail.

I caught 30 trout tonight - half of them on a rod with 2lb line.  It's super ultralight fenwick.  It's a meatstick compared to that noodle!  lol.    (oh and 6 shad before the trout)

That sucks. I talked to one guy that fished the Navesink and got blown out by 3-4 ft rollers in there. Got no fluke but did get some small blues. He said where he wanted to fluke was un fishable cause of the wind and waves.

Me too. Not the best way to cook it health wise but taste amazing.

We had no problem finding some good spots to tuck in out of the wind  and work a good drift just no bite. Lol.   Maybe the dropping tide didn’t help. Oh well that’s fishing!  You had a nice day buck!

Back out today again. My uncle and I  could only mange 3 keepers to 22". Water was warmer today but had a SE winds. Just not sure why we couldnt get our limit both days, oh well. I will be out in a couple days after the holiday crowds die down.
