Improving habitat on our WMAs.

After a bit of a delay, logging will resume on Sparta Mt WMA as part of a plan to create early successional / young forest habitat throughout the WMA.

This is literally "right out my backdoor", so I am thrilled to say the least.

Any hikes planned this year to tour the progress so far?  I’d love to see what some of the cuts over the years have become.

Are they going to do bird counts to determine whether or not the species they’ve cleared for have increased in numbers?

I did one yesterday,  and the day before that, and .  .  .  . well I'll be going today.  

I don't have a problem, I can stop anytime I want.

I’m in Washington still.  I’ll PM you to set up a weekend to go on a tour.  I also want to find some photography spots for the spring and summer too.

They've done a few different cuts over the years.  This cut is not adjacent to the power lines.

Have to do what we don’t allow fire 🔥 to do. Tree huggers don’t get it and never will
