10/18 Check In

Will be my first time out all season this afternoon/evening. Very excited. Coldest day of the year so far. I'll be hanging some cameras up before getting out since I've had no time this year....hoping to be settled in by 2:30-3. 

 

Anyone else headed out or already out? Any movement?

Well bad start to my day.  Forgot release at home and someone stole SD card out of camera.  Do some scouting and fine 2 ladder stand set ups not too far off. Will be leaving notes at some point on their stands and I spooked a doe.  

On a some what brighter note I am in a new and different spot with new stand and already spooked one big doe, had no clue she was there.  Out till dark, hoping I can let one fly!!

better be worth calling out “sick” from work lol

good luck everyone, nice cold windy day to be out, I think the pre-rut is starting to heat up, lots of bucks sparring, I  see does emerging from thickets in yards to escape being chased, etc.   If only we were given two flexible buck tags a year, I would love to be out there for buck #2 today through the weekend.

Hurt my back (reoccurring/on-going) Tuesday.  IF I can get my x-bow cocked, I'll hobble to a tree, hopefully be in by 3:15PM.  My Son will come home and help me with a deer, if I need it.

Just got settled in myself. Hung a few cameras and already seen 13 before I got in the blind. Hopefully I didn't see them too bad and they will be back. 2nd sit of the season.

Was going to try to make it to the get together. The woods where calling instead. Out in zone 2 since 3 pm. Still windy. I'm hoping it dies down by 5 pm. Good luck all.

Out on a new piece of property, looks pretty promising. Found a new large scrape on my way out, wasn’t there when i set the stand a couple days ago. Been trying to get this piece for bow for quite a while.
