First Gray fox

Caught my first gray fox ever today. Beautiful male. Caught tons of reds before. Will probably get him mounted or tanned.

Grey's are my favorite furbearer.

They have become pretty scarce around here, so much so that I would probably release one if I caught it.

oh come on their not bad, my new invention is red fox copenhagen, when i took christmas off i thought my chew tasted wierd because my hands didnt smell or taste like fox

I love that smell too, along with skunk, coon, mink, bobcat, fisher, coyote, muskrat, and castor. My wife loves the smell of the fur check

They used to be really abundant up to 79-80' and then the population crashed.  Red foxes have exploded to the same number as in 79-80'. Any correlation to the increase in yotes?

It's interesting that greys can climb trees.

The grey is native to north america, the red is not, it was introduced by Europeans for sport hunting as the Grey's wouldn't run from the hounds but would hole up.

I personally would rather have the Grey's

Back in the early 90s I caught almost 50/50 reds/greys.
